Oh, I hate to be "that guy" but, haven't the yellow rubber wrist thingies just become so ubiquitous that they have lost all meaning other than fad and fashion? I am way for the fight against cancer (of any sort), HIV-AIDS, illiteracy and poverty. I am not trying to diminish Lance's cause in any way (although he and I may disagree on a thing or two) but I'm tiered of seeing the yellow thingy. Furthermore if Marco Pantani had remained healthy Lance would have just been "that other American who won a couple of times".

That's definitely not hatred. It's his own way of telling you that he respects and appreciates you. It's his "love-language". If you are not being mocked or abused, then he doesn't care about you.
I'm not kidding.
